Awesome Experience

When I went on this trip, the weeks just flew by. We were always doing something exciting or getting to see unique and amazing parts of Japan. My main reason for going on this study trip was to, well, study. I wanted to check out the school and see if I liked it or not. I guess I liked it, since I'm currently writing this review from Japan while going to the same language school from the trip!

Going on this trip with a group of people from all around the world was an amazing experience. The trip staff take care of a lot of the heavy lifting, so you don't have as much to worry about and you can enjoy the trip. Not to mention our tour guide was incredibly funny and helpful, he really took the trip over the top and made it much more than just a tour. This is absolutely a unique experience that will stick with you and I can't recommend it enough.

Stop thinking and start experiencing

From the moment you start inquiring by mail to the last goobye in person the staff is super helpful, they will make their best to ensure you have a great time.

With the school, the activities, the new people you are meeting and all the new things to discover in Japan there is never a dull moment.

The schedule for classes and activities give you enogh free time to look around for all the other plans you might have made for your trip, but the constant transportation to school and activities and the kitchen in the dorm let you stay away from the just another tourist tag, you can become as local as you like.

My only regret is not realizing how much stuff and souvenirs i was gonna plan on taking home, travel light, you will come back super full

What would you improve about this program?
the housing, the room was private, spacious, and comfortable, is not the easiest to meet your housemates when there were almost no shared areas, but is a great excuse to head out

Three weeks and a thousand stories

I'll start by saying: this was an absolutely incredible trip. I got so many cool memories and stories from walking around the streets in Tokyo and Kyoto that I even now almost a year after often find myself daydreaming about it.

The trip might seem a bit on the pricey side if you just consider the price of everything compared to doing it yourself alone, but the thing is: it's not the same. A big part of why my trip was so amazing was because I was experiencing it with like-minded people. And those memories and people will remain with me for a long time.

Best Experience I've Had

The summer course was super fun and I couldn't imagine a better way I could have ended my summer. The activities are a great introduction to all the cool things you can experience in Japan and I especially love that this course is accessible to anyone regardless of their language proficiency. All the staff are super kind and helpful and very fun! This course is also a great way to meet new people from many different backgrounds, so not only are you learning about Japan but also many other different countries and cultures. I enjoyed this course very much and I guarantee my experience in Japan would have been much different and definitely not as fun if I had not chosen to go with the GoGoNihon summer course! 😊😊😊

Just Do It!

Amazing trip!

You won’t regret going to Japan, the only thing you might regret is not getting a bigger bag to pack all the souvenirs.

The GoGoNihon staff are super helpful and are very kind. Always willing to help when they can and go out of their way to help.

There’s also so many things to do in Japan, you cannot say “I’m bored” while you’re there.

Just do it and Go! (Go Nihon)

Have a handful (3-5) SIM cards ready for when the first ones don’t work. It happened to 2-3 people and their sim cards didn’t work with the phones at first.

The Facebook group thing worked in letting people know eachother before the trip. And a way to contact anyone who may be late for meet up.

BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!

Made the best decision of my life so far to participate in GOGO Summer course July 2017.

Enrollment process- Nathan, the International student coordinator, answered all my questions promptly and thoroughly. How easy was the process? Picture this: I started the process around the 1st of July-and was on the plane to Korea by the 21st!

Schooling- I was placed at Lexis Korea, a language school in the heart of Gangnam. Lessons were well-paced and my teacher was very attuned to the student's learning styles and levels.

Housing/accommodation- I stood for 3 weeks in a quaint goshiwon right off a main road in Gangnam. Had no complaints about the cleanliness, accessibility, and features of the place. (GOGO is your advocate if you had any concerns about your housing placement, which would be handled promptly. For example, I realized I didn't have a TV in my room but I was promised one-I contacted GOGO and sent the school a ticket and had a TV installed the next day!)

Support-I was on a group chat with my GOGO advisors so they were very accessible. They were very patient and understanding. One time, i needed help using the washing machine-I sent a photo in the chat and Eddy translated the buttons for me!

Activities- GOGO's activities are fun and well-paced, allowing you to maintain a balance of self-exploration and exploration with GOGO. The activities allow a chance to bond with the GOGO team members and your fellow summer group peers. The GOGO team is very enthusiastic about the spots and are genuinely interested in your feedback and experience.

Overall, I couldn't have had a better time. I felt very comfortable asking my gogo advisors questions.
