Best thing I ever did

Met some amazing people on this trip, loads of freedom for you to decide together what you want to do and the staff were brilliant at helping guide us while still making sure we did all the planning and booking ourselves. This meant we could choose everything that we did and everywhere we went making the whole trip really entertaining and it stopped people from taking over or not doing enough as they made sure that no one was left out and that everyone was doing something at each stage. Most memorable experiences I've had and made some great friends.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Just go for absolutely everything you want to try and be confident

Exploring Europe

Our son had a great 2 weeks away with teens his own age exploring cities across Europe with excellent supportive adults giving the teenagers space to make choices, plan their days and explore things they wouldn’t normally encounter. After 7 great years at camp with L&E this a fantastic next step for our son on his way to feeling more independent, planning what he wants to do and enjoying the freedom of a non parent holiday. True collaborative and inclusive environment allowed all the teenagers to take the lead, make choices, learn to plan and take control of their lives. The smiles in the photos said it all.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
Would be great with a slightly larger group and less obvious locations. Places which were a bit more off the beaten track.

European Adventure

Our son, aged 15, wanted to take part in Team Travel primarily to find out how to navigate and travel in Europe independently, to visit new cities and to have some adventures along the way. Learning how to run a budget for living expenses, book trans-European train tickets, and choose a good hostel were all valuable experiences. Getting to choose activities, the sights to see and places to eat was an added bonus. Decision making as part a group was challenging, both as a team member and sometimes as the leader, but support from staff helped to build confidence and encourage independence.

What would you improve about this program?
Increase the size of the group to maximise then chance of lasting friendships being formed.

Jacob's review

Extremely friendly environment, very professional and helpful staff who were constantly supportive, options in abundance and a wide variety of activities you could do, (The Aqua park was one of the highlights of me), great facilities, food and accommodation, very safe, nurturing, fun and a great use of two weeks. I highly recommend it to anyone who has doubts about their plans this upcoming summer and the summers to come. The two weeks flew by and it was great to meet new friends from different places in the world.

What would you improve about this program?
I suppose I would have liked some of the activities to have been more competitive although i understand that the camp has to be friendly to everyone.

Great experience

I have done L&E Teen Travel 3 times and every single time was a fantastic experience. The staff are so friendly, good fun and are great at making sure everybody is involved. They understand teenagers and make the whole experience one to never forget. I have made new friends with people from all over world and not via internet but f2f 😀 It doesn’t feel like one of these travel experiences with lots of rules like ‘lights off’ at ten and not on your mobile from 9 to 6 etc..etc... and yet at the same time it’s very well organised and they keep an eye out for safety and that everybody is included.

Teen Travel

I enjoyed Teen Travel because it was a great life learning experience as well as fun. Teen Travel prepared me for being on my own as an adult. I was able to gain every day life experiences such as, managing a budget, being responsible for my own transportation and accommodations and working along side people who are different from me. I believe these are all skills that you need to know as an adult and I am glad I had the opportunity to learn these things while also enjoying my time. To me the best part of Teen Travel is that it didn’t even feel like we were working, everything was completely enjoyable and I, along with the other teens we’re in control of all the fun activities and places we went.

I recommend Teen Travel to teens across the world. One thing that I noticed about not only Teen Travel but the L&E camp as a whole, is that their main goal is for completely different people from across the world to be able to connect with each other through activities and good times. With Teen Travel you get the opportunity to travel and see that world and meet, connect with new people. This is a great opportunity that I everyone should experience.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
It’s perfectly fine to be nervous your first few days but the most important thing to do is relax. You will be amazed of how much fun you can have with people you probably have never met before. If you see something fun you would like to do talk to the group about it because you don’t know if you will have that chance again. In Teen Travel you have to take the chance of getting out of your comfort zone. You can’t explore the world inside of a box.

Excellent experience

Our daughter, Melissa, attended an L&E camp in the UK last summer. It was a wonderful experience for her. The camp lasted for two weeks, which was enough time for her to make good friendships without being so long that it took up too much of the summer. She made lasting friends from Denmark and Italy that she still communicates frequently with. In fact, the girls really wanted to go to a concert in Denmark in the fall. Unfortunately, they forgot to factor in the small issue of cost! Melissa loved the rather exotic location in an old English boarding school. The activities were quite varied and included various sports, horseback riding and a trip to Oxford, among many others. I highly recommend this camp to anybody.

Teen Travel is amazing !!

I loved doing Teen Travel, it is really a once in a lifetime experience that every teenager should do. It helps us acquire skills and develop autonomy as, even if a tutor is checking our decisions, we get to decide and plan everything we want to do.
You get social skills, language skills and organisation skills.
This experience is really open to everyone, even if you are from the UK, it is still another perspective and should definitely consider doing it.
It is the same as travelling with your friends but safer since you have adults with you :)

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
As we travel in the UK, we went to Scotland and I ate haggis, which I had never tasted before and it is good.

My Time at Learn and Experience

I think the fact that I have been to L&E's world camps 7 years in a row speaks for itself. In my opinion world camps are a truly wonderful experince for any child between the ages of 8 and 16. On the camp you are given the option of several different activities each day, ranging from adventures such as canoeing to baking and craft making. The kids are really in charge of their time at camp. The evening activities are always kicked off by a daily swim. The camp turtors are always around to help or simply point you in the right direction.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Rock climbing has never been a afvourite activity of mine but at camp I gave it a go. Between a combination of the staff and the other children I over came my fear and I am much happier for it.

Different, Fun and new International Friendships!

I had so much fun meeting new friends from different places in the world. I am 15 years old from Vancouver, Canada. I already knew what all my friends were doing back home so was happy to be doing something else!. I made really good friends with the girls that I roomed with from Denmark, Italy and France and we still talk. My favourite things at the camp were horseback riding, directing a cool video with my friends, rock climbing and the art and creative projects. I was given the Creative Award at the end of the camp which was really nice.

What was your funniest moment?
Directing the movie I made with my friends. It was about a Zombie Apocalypse! It turned out so well and we laughed a lot making it.
