Jacob's review

Extremely friendly environment, very professional and helpful staff who were constantly supportive, options in abundance and a wide variety of activities you could do, (The Aqua park was one of the highlights of me), great facilities, food and accommodation, very safe, nurturing, fun and a great use of two weeks. I highly recommend it to anyone who has doubts about their plans this upcoming summer and the summers to come. The two weeks flew by and it was great to meet new friends from different places in the world.

What would you improve about this program?
I suppose I would have liked some of the activities to have been more competitive although i understand that the camp has to be friendly to everyone.

Excellent experience

Our daughter, Melissa, attended an L&E camp in the UK last summer. It was a wonderful experience for her. The camp lasted for two weeks, which was enough time for her to make good friendships without being so long that it took up too much of the summer. She made lasting friends from Denmark and Italy that she still communicates frequently with. In fact, the girls really wanted to go to a concert in Denmark in the fall. Unfortunately, they forgot to factor in the small issue of cost! Melissa loved the rather exotic location in an old English boarding school. The activities were quite varied and included various sports, horseback riding and a trip to Oxford, among many others. I highly recommend this camp to anybody.

My Time at Learn and Experience

I think the fact that I have been to L&E's world camps 7 years in a row speaks for itself. In my opinion world camps are a truly wonderful experince for any child between the ages of 8 and 16. On the camp you are given the option of several different activities each day, ranging from adventures such as canoeing to baking and craft making. The kids are really in charge of their time at camp. The evening activities are always kicked off by a daily swim. The camp turtors are always around to help or simply point you in the right direction.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Rock climbing has never been a afvourite activity of mine but at camp I gave it a go. Between a combination of the staff and the other children I over came my fear and I am much happier for it.

Different, Fun and new International Friendships!

I had so much fun meeting new friends from different places in the world. I am 15 years old from Vancouver, Canada. I already knew what all my friends were doing back home so was happy to be doing something else!. I made really good friends with the girls that I roomed with from Denmark, Italy and France and we still talk. My favourite things at the camp were horseback riding, directing a cool video with my friends, rock climbing and the art and creative projects. I was given the Creative Award at the end of the camp which was really nice.

What was your funniest moment?
Directing the movie I made with my friends. It was about a Zombie Apocalypse! It turned out so well and we laughed a lot making it.

Fantastic camps

Our two daughters have attended the L&E camps for respectively 7 and 5 years. Every year, they are quite excited to go there. Despite not speaking English at home, the 15-day camps give them a solid and painless refresh of their English language skills.
But more than this, the children really appreciate the atmosphere and the large range of activities, bringing a balanced mix of fun and education. I was so amazed when our 10-year old child told us one evening that she had experienced diving in the pool and that it was really fun ! Or when we saw the pictures of night camps or rock climbing. The camps helped them grow autonomous, giving them also an appetite for testing new activities.
Every year is also an opportunity to make new friends, some of them now friends for life : our daughters are still in contact with other campers from China or Mauritius. The mix of nationalities and cultures is a real chance to better understand other cultures, learn more about the others and finally better live together.
We also appreciated that the camps are allergens free : one of our daughters is allergic to peanuts, cashews, pistachio an mustard. There has never been any issue.
Our oldest daughter will this year attend the Teen traveler program.

Brilliant

Our daughter Kasia travelled from New Zealand to attend this camp in the UK, a long way from home, but she loved every minute of it and wants to go back every year!

The selection of activities was great and the excursion trips to London and Oxford looked wonderful. I wish there had been something like this available to me when I was young.

The support of the staff was amazing, even allowing Kasia to use a staff phone to speak to us outside of normal hours, because of the time difference.

The friends that Kasia made during the camp were from all over the world and she has kept in touch with many of them - a great sign of the friendships that were made.

Thank you for such a positive and full experience, I hope we will be able to send Kasia on another L&E Camp in the future!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Volunteer for as many activities as possible to get the most out of it!

A genuine melting pot!

Our son has grown up in Israel, but has significant links to the UK on my side. We were keen on finding a way of strength if these, and also give him a chance to meet and make friends with children from other parts of the world.

L and E is a remarkable facility. Combining outdoor activities with group games, physical challenges with creative endeavours, Adam has learnt a huge amount about the world - and about himself - in the 3 camps he has attended. As our son grows older, we (and he) are really looking to returning to L and E, and perhaps even participating on an independent travel scheme.
Two thumbs up!

What would you improve about this program?
Adam has really enjoyed his three summers at L and E. we wouldn’t change a thing!

The Best camp Ever!

I have been to L&E World Camp UK 3 times and loved each year more and more...
The staff are so kind and warm and really want to help. They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable.
I love all the activities that we do but particularly the Adventure...in one week I did Climbing, Kayaking, Survival Skills and scuba diving!
The evening activities are my favourite....ice breaker games, camp fire, movie night, oscar nights but best of all are the theme nights....Harry Potter was seriously the one of the best nights of my life.
But I think think the best thing about L&E is the friends you make. I have met friend from all over the world and have even visited some of them....Japan and Spain!

I LOVE L&E!!!! I hope I'll go back to work there when I'm 18!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would stay for longer! The first year I did 1 week, then 2 weeks and last year I did 4 weeks but it still wasn't enough!! 😂
