TTR Review

TTR was very helpful in my journey to teaching overseas. Tomoko is very hands on and she pays attention to detail. She motivates by giving constructive criticism and she displays a level of customer service I had never experienced before. TTR made my journey easy, she was helpful throughout every step from the interviews to the very day I landed in Japan. She is hands on, professional as well as organized. She also keeps checking on me to see how Iโ€™m doing and Iโ€™m very grateful to have applied through TTR.

TTR with Tomoko Tamaki!

Tomoko was absolutely incredible and an invaluable asset in helping me achieve my dream of teaching overseas. She was with me for the entire process and was diligent, kind, and reassuring about the whole time.

She assisted my with everything from communicating with my company to visa applications and processes, and I wouldn't have been able to accomplish what I did without her. She even helped me when I got nervous or anxious.

Honestly I cannot recommend Tomoko enough. If you are considering working with her, do yourself a favor and do it. She's the best at what she does, and I couldn't imagine going through any of this without her help.

Tamaki TEFL Recruitment was brilliant

Couldn't recommend Tomoko with Tamaki TEFL Recruitment enough with how she helped me get through the process of getting a VISA for Japan, preparing for the demo and many other things needed when moving to a new job / new country. I never felt like I was in the dark about anything, whenever I had a question it was answered in quick fashion.

I have since moved to Japan and started the new job and its been pretty much a dream come true. Met loads of lovely people and the job is better than I could have asked for so far!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Within the first few days I was in Japan I experienced my first large earthquake, definitely a unique experience when your whole room shakes for like 2 seconds and then silence!
Pros
  • Extremely quick response time
  • Brilliant care/help throughout the entire process
  • Lots of recommendations for making life easier during the paperwork process

Tamaki TEFL Recruitment (TTR)

I highly recommend TTR for anyone looking to teach English abroad.
I cannnot find words that can do enough justice to describe how helpful TTR was in my securing of a job and relocating to Japan. The whole process (interviews and documentation) was seamless because Tomoko assisted me with every step and assured me that everything would go smoothly, which it did. Her support, patience and encouragement are so out of this world!
Even after relocating, she still checks up on me to find out how life and work is going. Talking to Tomoko for the first time felt like I had known her for a long time so anyone can only but have a picture of how great it must be working with her.
Anyone would NEVER go wrong with TTR.

What was your funniest moment?
Everything was unique for me because I feel TTRโ€™s assistance is tailor made to best suit each and every candidate they get to assist.

Tamaki TEFL Recruitment is great

The recruitment was quick and easy. I also received constant support from the beginning through emails and Skype calls and by the time I left my home country all my worries were addressed and I continued to receive more support after moving to Japan.
The recruiter worked deligently to complete all my paper-work and provided me with lots of information on apps to learn Japanese from, where to get a SIM card, where to buy clothes, local Japanese places to visit. She was always available whenever I needed her help.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Taking the trains and local buses in Japan was the most nerve-racking moment and I overcame it by doing it as often as I could since it was the best and cost-effective way of going to work. But once I got used to it, it felt natural and was more comfortable with my area and the people.
Pros
  • Seeing culturally historic places.
  • Eating Japanase cuisine.
  • Experiencing a simple life as a local.
Cons
  • The hot weather was unbearable at times.

Highly Recommend TTR!

I applied for a teaching position in Japan through TTR. Tomoko answered all my questions and guided me through all the paperwork and visas making the process super easy. She went above and beyond in providing support leading up to the job and followed up when I arrived in Japan. TTR operates at a high level of professionalism and there were no surprises when I landed in Japan. All my questions were answered quickly and all logistics were carefully explained to me before I left. I couldnโ€™t imagine doing this process with anyone else.

Tomoko really listened to my placement preferences in Japan and made sure I would be placed in an area that I loved. I asked to be in the Kansai region with hiking opportunities in the area and both of those preferences were met!

Whether you are right out of university like me or you are looking for a career change, I recommend TTR as they are attentive and it really feels like they care about your well being. Thank you so much TTR for getting me a job I love! :)

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Iโ€™m currently learning Japanese right now, so communicating with locals has been really nerve racking! In my town, there is a climbing gym that I wanted to get a membership to. I was really nervous to go up to talk to the front desk, but between my bad Japanese and google translate I was able to get a membership. Everyone at the gym ended up being really nice and were even helping me improve my Japanese.

TTR Provides Support and Genuine Care

Applying to jobs- especially to positions overseas- can be overwhelming and difficult. From my first interaction with Tomoko at TTR, I knew that her recruitment style was different. She actively sought me out as a candidate, respected my time by acting in a prompt manner, and went above and beyond in providing support.
After a couple of great interviews- Tomoko is so kind, knowledgeable, and helpful- I was offered a position in Japan! Though I had a long period between my initial interview and my start date, Tomoko was very proactive and kept in touch with me to make sure I was on track with every step of the visa process. She also sent plenty of other information about what to expect when moving to Japan.
When I say that Tomoko went above and beyond, I mean it. Her instructions and information sent ahead of time were so thorough and the time she spent helping me prepare made things so much easier after I got here. While some of my peers were scrambling to find a SIM card for their phone or an ATM that would accept their international bank card, I realized just how much extra care Tomoko provided in her recruiting. I didn't get just the barebone requirements for the job, but literally all of the little logistics that come with an international move.
All throughout the application process, Tomoko showed such genuine kindness. Her messages were always upbeat and kind, she was always so fun to speak to over the phone, and I could tell that she really cares. When it came time for me to actually make the move to Japan, Tomoko kept in touch and asked for updates through my travel and training period.
My entire job search for a teaching position took longer than expected, but I got a job offer less than two weeks after I first spoke to Tomoko- when I found the right opportunity, everything fell into place perfectly and quickly. I feel very fortunate to have gotten to work with a team that is dedicated, timely, professional, and genuinely a pleasure to work with. Thank you!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
One experience that I think is memorable for a lot of people traveling to Japan for the first time is getting lost in a train station! Luckily, Japan is also well-known for great customer service. On my first day of training for the new job, I had a difficult time getting from the high speed train to the local line. The path through the train station was like a mall maze, and every hallway was an identical row of small shops. I stepped into a shop to ask an employee to point me in the right direction- but instead of pointing, she led me outside, waved for me to follow her, and took me all the way to the entry point. Her kindness really stuck with me, and I made it to my final destination!

TAMAKI TEFL RECRUITING IS LIKE NO OTHER!

It was incredibly intimidating to leave my home country and travel abroad to teach English in Japan, but Tamaki TEFL Recruiting (TTR) helped to support and provide a clear picture of what it would be like to teach English in Japan.

From the first interview, TTR had an emphasis on helping me understand what teaching in Japan would be like. And I whole-heartedly appreciated the informative and realistic picture they painted to ensure I understood what I was applying for.

From that interview and on, TTR focused on providing a clear timeline with in-depth information and instructions. They focus on getting you knowledgeable about job expectations, visa applications, and how to get yourself ready for the move. One of the biggest advantages of working with TTR is their advice. TTR staff are former teachers, and they provide practical advice based on their own experiences. They care about your wellbeing, and they check into make sure that you feel confident about your choice, even after you arrive in your location!

Overall, I appreciate the professional but warm attitude at TTR. They know how to get you where you need to go, and theyโ€™re willing to go the extra mile to support you. Theyโ€™re a model example of how a recruiting company should operate.

What was your funniest moment?
While teaching kids in a classroom I received a phone call from a Japanese speaking customer. Trying to tell them I didn't speak Japanese I said a phrase which literally translated to "I physically can't speak Japanese". The kids burst out laughing after I said that!

  • Personalized support
