Une expérience vraiment merveilleuse, qui a laissé de beaux souvenirs, une marque indélébile dans notre cœur et notre mémoire. Nous sommes restés une semaine et il a été difficile pour nous de partir, comme un petit pincement au cœur. Augustin et Enrique sont des personnes bienveillantes, avec qui nous avons beaucoup échangés. C’était un plaisir d’être quotidiennement avec eux. Ils prennent soin des animaux et c’est une si belle cause. Nous vous encourageons à vivre cette expérience hors norme. Merci pour tout.

The center is an amazing place, we volunteered there for 3 weeks. However it has no funding apart from donations and is in need of help. The impact of the refuge is huge : almost half of jaguars in captivity in Ecuador are offspring of animals rescued by the center.

The vet and his team (Agustin and Mateo) are amazing to guide volunteers to learn about the animals and care for them (all animals rescued from illegal trade in the Amazon) : jaguars, puma, coatis, monkeys, parrots...

Projects to improve the center are very diverse : we worked on building a pool for the jaguars, decoration, educational speeches, children games, social media, building a meditation area, renovating the kitchen for animals, improve the feeding methods...

We really felt like we could help and share ideas. And lots of opportunities to have fun !!

During the time I was in this place I had very good experiences and the activities were very entertaining that allowed us to learn about important facts about different species, in addition to the conservation of flora and fauna.
We also learned how to work as a team during the activities we did every day, which helped us learn more about the fauna and flora of our country.
I also found it a nice experience to be so close to various animals that live in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Durante el tiempo que estuve en este lugar tuve muy buenas experiencias y las actividades fueron muy entretenidas que nos permitieron aprender sobre datos importantes de diferentes especies, ademas de la conservación de la flora y fauna.
Ademas aprendimos como trabajar en equipo durante las actividades que realizabamos cada dia lo cual nos ayudo a aprender mas sobre la fauna y flora de nuestro pais.
Tambien me parecio una bonita experiencia estar tan cerca de varios animalitos que habitan en la amazonia Ecuatoriana.

Realizar voluntariado en el Centro de rescate Los Jaguares es una gran experiencia. Fomenta el compañerismo entre colegas, los administradores del lugar y personas de otras partes del mundo, que llegan al lugar. De igual forma, se aprecia de mejor manera el trabajo que hacen este tipo de instituciones para la protección y resguardo de animales salvajes. Las actividades a realizar son basicamente la alimentación de animales y el mantenimiento de sus habitats, por lo cual es bueno anotar sus dietas.

Una de las mejores experiencias de mi vida.
El trato recibido por parte del equipo del centro ha sido perfecto en todo momento, si eres apasionado de la naturaleza y amante de los animales Los Jaguares es tu sitio. Vas a conocer gente extraordinaria y lo más importante vas a vivir una experiencia inolvidable.
Esta cerca del pueblo de Macas ( tienes autobús cada 15 minutos al lado del centro) tardas como unos 10 minutos en llegar al pueblo y puedes encontrar de todo. El centro tiene muy buenas instalaciones , buena conexión internet , y las comidas que no han dado durante mi estancia han sido increíbles.

it's worth it totally. you learn not just from animals but also from culture because you don’t just work you also travel around the nearby cities.
If you’re planning to do an internship or be a volunteer don’t think it too much and just do it. The staff is amazing and you make friends there so don’t be afraid to travel alone

I was very pleased with my overall experience.
Enrique and Agustin were welcoming, friendly, generous with their time and knowledge.
I met passionate people who, just like me, care about the well-being of animals. The group life was exceptional.
I feel privileged to have shared the daily life of so many fascinating animals.
Moreover, I had the chance to improve my Spanish.
Oh, and it's really safe for solo women travelers.
I only spent a week at the center. If I had to do it again, I would stay there a lot longer!
