the school got my second home in many ways

After arriving in Beijing I quickly got frustrated because in so many ordinary situations I could not express myself. The school helped me a lot. I still remember one night in the Underground, I needed to recharge my card, but didnt know how to. The Chinese staff, three of them, were all scared to talk to me. Eventually the smallest and oldest was chosen. When I started to speak Chinese to him and he realized he could underestand me, he got so genuinely happy, it was a great moment for both of us.
