ThinkPacific is so much more than a volunteer experience, which I think is down to the sustainable nature of the programme and how it’s implemented so thoroughly. Forming connections with strangers who quickly become family, and forming genuine friendships with adults and kids from the other side of the planet is not something you can do every day - and think pacific allows you to immerse yourself in this loving, hardworking, no excuses, unified environment.
The sheer level of detail the leaders make sure goes into teaching and ensuring new learning doesn’t stop when we leave is completely admirable - right down to Kindi (although the frog song still haunts me).
When I hear other members of TP talk about their experience their choice of term is always “We” and never “I”.
This may not be the most relatable point, but if you’re anything like me - the fact that it wasn’t an issue to be barefoot for three days when my flip flops broke was an absolute dream come true.
If you ever find yourself in a place where you feel connected, happy, excited, useful, loved, cared for, supported, and you’re sporting a GORGEOUS golden tan - you’re probably in Fiji with ThinkPacific.
