Great team, excellent course

I was a bit skeptical when I decided to do my TEFL in Thailand, but I was finally convinced, and that was the beginning of my journey. It turned out to be the best decision ever! The Text & Talk Team came to pick me up from the Airport and took me straight to the accommodation. The team was a fantastic group of people to get to know!

Our CV’s were immediately prepared by the admin team (Zelum & Charles) to find us employment and all the small details such as our TOEIC Tests and Visa applications were taken care of. They were always available to answers our questions, from the best places to purchase IT equipment, stationery and more!

On the first day of class, we were greeted with a nice Orientation Lunch and provided with insight into Thai Culture and other important bits of information related to starting our careers in Thailand.

Our Course Trainers, Ben and Miki were truly excellent. Their hands-on approach to teaching TEFL made me realize the importance of being prepared to teach in a classroom environment. Furthermore, they taught us how to differentiate proficiency levels and how to adapt to various situations. This made me realize that teaching was more of a theatre recital and that acting was part of the methodology!

We had a Corporate Teaching Observation and were able to participate in the lesson. This was quite fun, and we were able to understand how Corporate Teaching is conducted and how different it is from teaching in a School.

Our Practice Teachings were held at a Thai Private School. We taught young learners and high school students. I especially enjoyed the young learners classes. Being able to experience different types of class environments helped me decide that teaching young learners was what I preferred.

Overall, the course was very fun and intense. Our goal was to be prepared to teach and teaching is not as easy as most would believe it to be. Time & class management, interacting with the students, being prepared, lesson planning and acting were only some of the skills taught. All these skills, combined, transformed us into very effective and fun Teachers.
