Angloville Junior Programme, Resort Niegocin

This was the first time that I’ve travelled alone and it was safe to say I was anxious. Upon meeting my fellow native speakers on the walking tour my anxieties were eased and I knew it would be a priceless experience, particularly as a solo traveller.
Angloville is a very valuable experience for native speakers and participants alike. You really feel that you’re making a difference and I loved being able to help people. It is also good value for money.
I would say that communication and organisation need to be improved as I did not receive important emails and links until another volunteer sent them to me at the end of the program. In addition, I had real issues with the hotel that we stayed in as the rooms felt dirty, the staff were rude and the food was poor, as was the internet connection. Furthermore, three of the four coordinators had a poor attitude towards the native speaker volunteers. They would criticise us a lot without any praise and for the same things that we believed had been addressed. It really reduced morale of the volunteers.
I would say that this should not deter anyone from applying to go on an Angloville program as it is clear that these issues arose because of the specific conditions of my program. Angloville has really improved my confidence, I’ve made real friends from all over the globe and, while it is very intense, it was great fun. Overall, I would recommend Angloville.
