Review

This was the fifth time I joined an Angloville session. I find that each time my experience gets better & better. I found Angloville to be really prepared, providing ample topics for discussion w/ appropriate idioms & vocabulary. Myself, I especially enjoy the informal conversations that happen during breaks & mealtime. I've done early morning walks with local participants ... I've enjoyed late-night debates ... and then there's the spontaneous discussions that always occur during meal time. Each Angloville week I've met locals with whom I've ended up keeping in touch with afterwards. Then, there are the other English-speaking volunteers -- wow, that's been great, too, the networking, sharing of travel stories. The food's fine, the accommodation is great -- and, if there's any hiccups, the Angloville coordinators are right there to help us sort things out... I highly recommend it!

if Angloville does continue to have "presentations" as part of the curriculum... then I'd recommend that there is scheduled time for debriefing after* the presentations between mentor & mentee. It's really good to part ways on a positive note -- I just found it hard to work around the time expectations, packing up, etc. to schedule on my own a short but sweet interaction w/ my mentee before parting ways ...just to wrap things up in a "formal" setting, over giving just giving the mentee a printout of my completed survey of them!
