I am Robin Mistré, I was selected for an internship in the company STSicily. I came to Sicily for the first time on 15th June 2018 for the Internship and I stayed in Sicily for 2 months. My job during the internship consists of prospecting for the company STSicily which is managed by Piero Tuzzo.
The reception in Sicily and the accommodation was very good. I lived with my classmates Ismael Martin and Thomas. My first impression of Sicily was very positive. I particularly appreciated the setting of the country as well as its weather. The first contact with the Sicilians was very friendly. I sympathized with several Sicilians including the managers of a restaurant named Yuppi. I started to discover Sicilian gastronomy thanks to them but also many other people I met. I also became friends with Vito, a fruit and vegetable merchant, which allows me to buy quality products in a good mood every day. Vito speaks a little German which allows me to discover new words in English, German or Italian. I am also happy to be in Sicily because I am a seafood lover and I can eat seafood and different quality fish because they come directly from the sea.
The fact that prices in Sicily are also lower t increases my purchasing power and therefore allows me to consume more which is very appreciated.
I hope to work in Sicily with the beautiful landscape and for perfecting my English and why not have some knowledge of Italian. I also appreciate the fact that several activities are proposed. I also have the impression that Sicily is full of treasures and that several activities are possible. We also discovered the different beaches in Balestrate. The fact of having the possibility of having a vehicle at our disposal to be able to discover the island is very appreciated.
From the work point of view, I have the impression that spirit is to train us to manage and develop a business. The professional approach of the internship seems to be one of the best means to progress in professional training.
The only fear I have is that I will not progress in English because only a few Sicilians speak English.
