Staying with a host family in Spain and studying there was the best experience I've ever had. My host family and I are still close to this day and the home placement was truly amazing they made me feel a part of the family. The location was great and within a good walking distance from my classes and I especially loved that we got to go home and eat lunch with our host families each day. Lunch is a huge part of Spanish culture and I loved the opportunity to meet more of the family and spend that crucial time together. CEA CAPA led guided trips spread out among my studies and I was very grateful for those because it took some stress off planning, scheduling, and trying to tackle transportation in a foreign place all while being a student and trying to learn the language. The Córdoba trip was one of my favorites and allowed me to visit places I wouldn't have otherwise. I was a fan of the lunch and dinner times but I will say definitely bring snacks because the breakfast to lunch gap can be quite hard for Americans, especially with how small breakfast is!
