I found the course to be well-structured, challenging, and engaging. The curriculum was designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, which helped me feel more confident in my ability to teach English to non-native speakers. I especially appreciated how the course covered a wide range of topics, including grammar, lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching the four key language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Each module built on the last, allowing me to steadily progress and deepen my understanding of what it takes to be an effective English teacher. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the course was how interactive it was, with quizzes, assignments, and real-world teaching scenarios that encouraged me to think critically and creatively. I also learned a great deal about how to adapt my teaching style to suit different learning environments, levels, and age groups. Whether it was creating engaging activities for young learners or planning more structured lessons for adult students, the course equipped me with the tools and confidence I needed. The support from tutors was another highlight—they were always available to provide guidance, answer questions, and give constructive feedback on assignments. This feedback helped me reflect on my progress and continuously improve. I also enjoyed learning about the cultural aspects of teaching English abroad, which opened my eyes to the importance of being respectful, adaptable, and culturally aware as a teacher. One particular area that stood out to me was the focus on learner-centred teaching and the importance of creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment. I now understand how crucial it is to encourage student participation, foster motivation, and provide plenty of opportunities for students to practise the language in meaningful ways. The pronunciation and phonology section, though initially daunting, turned out to be incredibly valuable, and I learned techniques to help students overcome common pronunciation challenges. The course also offered insight into the use of technology in the classroom, something I found particularly relevant and exciting. From using online platforms to creating digital resources, I now feel well-prepared to teach in both in-person and virtual settings. Overall, completing the Level 5 TEFL Certificate was not only enjoyable but also deeply educational. It provided me with a strong foundation and a clear path forward, whether I choose to teach abroad, online, or even locally. I came away from the course with a sense of accomplishment and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching English. It has sparked a passion in me that I didn’t fully realize was there before, and I’m excited to apply everything I’ve learned in real-world teaching situations. I’m proud of what I achieved and grateful for the opportunity to grow both professionally and personally through this experience.
