I had a wonderful experience completing my certification with TEFL Academy. They were extremely helpful during the process of booking my teaching practical class and answered all my questions. The coursework was easy to follow and made me more excited for my future career. The instructor at the practice teaching class was amazing and had a great energy which made the class so much more enjoyable. The course made me realise I can achieve my goals whilst still having a stable job. I recommend TEFL Academy above any other.

I really enjoyed my online TEFL course. I was able to take my time to do the course successfully. I also enjoyed the different forms of testing that were available throughout each unit on the course as it allowed me to check in with myself and helped me make sure I was actually taking in the materials. The assignments were not easy but I think the course material was enough to help you get through them. I also found the feedback from each assignment useful as it helped to improve my work in the next assignments.

Despite my initial skepticism towards online learning, I was very pleasantly surprised by The TEFL Academy's online course. It was an engaging and enjoyable experience. The course's interactive elements kept me motivated throughout, making the learning process both fun and informative. What stood out most was the practicality of the content. From effective teaching strategies to classroom management techniques, the course offered valuable insights that I could apply in various teaching situations. By the end of the course, I felt ready and confident in my abilities as a new English teacher. I highly recommend it to anyone considering a career in teaching English.

As a Student pursuing an Education degree, I am very impressed and pleased with the content that The TEFL Academy has included in this course. They begin by first helping you understand English Language and then equip you with resources on how to design your own lesson plans, how to be an effective teacher, how to present the content, effective tools to use, and a lot more. The TEFL Academy is only trying to set you up for success and was definitely worth doing. I completed my course in 3 months. I actually use some of the things I learnt in my Education Degree, and some lecturers have been impressed with how effective I have become. I did not take the practical course with it as I get enough practical experience with my Education degree. Overall, The TEFL Academy has enhanced my teaching effectiveness and I can't stop sharing about how impressed I am.

I will be using my TEFL qualification to continue to develop experience before I become a qualified teacher, to help advance Education in South Africa, as well as helping me to earn a better income in today's inflation.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Try to sit and complete it as fast as you can, because once you get lazy it will be hard to work through it all. Create a study schedule to help you stay motivated in working through all the content. Also, make notes, because I keep going back to my notes when teaching and preparing for lessons.

The Level 5 168 Hour TEFL Certificate course from the TEFL Academy was a very informative course that not only improved me as a TEFL trainer but also as a teacher in general. This course consisted of ten assessed units plus a getting started unit. There are 3 major assignment tasks in this course and you must pass all 3 assignments to get your certificate. The topics of the units tackled core teaching topics such as teaching receptive skills and the effective use of resources.

Overall, I had a great experience doing this course from the TEFL academy. I believe that my skills as a TEFL teacher have now greatly improved and I am now better equipped to tackle any future classroom challenges.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

My advice for future travelers on this program is to create a schedule and a goal and keep to it as best as you can. The biggest challenge for me when I took this course was the ability to stay focused and keep doing the unit lessons. This course can be very demanding and heavy for some people and this may cause some people to become unmotivated with how demanding it is. That is why I believe that it will be really helpful if you create a schedule and a goal (for example, you can create a goal that you will finish 1 unit every week) and try your best to stick to it. By doing this, I strongly believe that you will be better equipped to tackle this program.

I really enjoyed the course. It was complete with all the contents necessary for teaching.
I would say that it is so much theory and sometimes it overwhelms me, but if you take time to do it you can do a lot in one day.
It is worth it. If you are looking for a job abroad this course would be a great friend of yours.
I have to admit that seeing all the units I had to read was frustrating at some point but then I cheered myself by saying "This is for my perfect job" and that helped me a lot to go through all the reading.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Just do it because you would need it for a lot of jobs. It is good to have this "title" as a plan B.

Before engaging, I was thinking a lot about joining a course like that. I read a lot or articles and finally that convinced me to join. I loved my course with The TEFL Academy.

I've learned so much and I could apply all my new skills with my students. During my course, I had the chance to teach at the same time. My students could see a major difference in my teaching skill and they recognized that it was much easier for them to learn thank to the methods I learned.
I can't advise more by saying that you should join this adventure, It worth it :)

Some lessons can be boring or difficult sometimes

There are a plethora of TEFL course providers, and alot of the "better ones", have so many course options, it makes you dizzy. After going through many reviews and ratings, I chose, 'The TEFL Academy' and I am glad I did. With only 3 main course options, it simplifies your decision making and streamlines the process.
As to the course itself, it is motivating, engaging, interactive and fun. It also gives you a sense of achievement, after having 3 assignments thoroughly examined and given feedback on.

Why did you choose this program?

Because of geological location; however, the reason I chose this particular program was in part due to it looking more official than the others. On my trip to a foreign country (South Korea), I was told by my friend that I was very knowledgeable about what I knew and wondered how I would do at teaching. With my current job, it made sense with the way the program was laid out.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The provider assisted with making me dig deeper into what I already knew about the subjects; on my own, it was up to me to decide mine on topics' materials for every assignment (the provider also assisted in the matter by providing templates). When it came to reviews, the assessor assisted in what I need to improve and what was good, if not great.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

If I had to give advice to someone that wanted this program, it would be to take their time. Although it can be done as quickly as needed, I would recommend them to take their time. Rushing will make them impatient and the longer lessons seem daunting, making one miss the simple things one already knows.

Be prepared to not have reviews on some of the lessons, as it will seem as they are abundant in the beginning.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

An average day, as it is an online course, is, however, the students want it to be. However, I would recommend doing half a lesson in 2 to 3 days, then the other. Even so, that is still pushing it for those who are struggling; spending 1 hr a day may be enough, depending on how much one covers in that hour.

I myself tried to cover a lesson a day; in the beginning, it worked out fine, until you get to the longer lessons; then you have to take into account the assignments, which would take almost a week to perform properly.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

When going abroad, I was fearing that I would not be able to answer the questions that were being asked. But after a while, I felt more comfortable about that.

There are still times I feel I would not have the answer to some questions, but I am comfortable now that, if asked a question I don't know, I could easily answer it with the appropriate response.

Is there any type of information you would like to point out to others?

Yes. I would point out that it would be a good idea to find out what requirements one needs for the teaching job they want. It is important to note that there is paperwork that is needed as well when going abroad that needs to be taken into account. These two things are easily missed in the thought process.

What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favourite travel memories is when I was in Croatia with a friend and we decided to venture in Bosnia Herzegovina for a few days. We stayed in a crazy hostel, with even crazier owners! They brought us to a rave in a cave which was so much fun. The next day we got to explore Mostar and we also traveled to Sarajevo and did a walking tour. It was so interesting!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Getting to work for The TEFL Academy has given me opportunity to grow in many different ways. I speak to a range of different people from different places daily which is really interesting and sometimes we do have little chats about where in the world we are! I've also significantly improved my geography, which is handy!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

My favourite stories are from teachers who teach young learners. The students get so attached to their teachers and they always have gifts from them that the children have made! I love to see the photos also; we often share these on our social media (with consent). It's a good way to show current and future students the opportunities out there when they get their qualifications.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to go on our Vietnam internship! I've always wanted to travel to Vietnam because it does look absolutely beautiful, but the internship sounds like a very rewarding one also. Getting to travel the world by also helping those to further their future prospects is an amazing opportunity.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I think our company is unique in many different ways. Our organization is special because we really do believe in the power of education. We all, in some way or another, have traveled to many different places across the world, and the majority of us have taught also. This gives us a real insight into the actual world of TEFL and the teachers.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Being successful means a lot of different things for different people. I think a successful company really values what they are intending to do, and I believe The TEFL Academy does it in every way. My hope for our organization is that it grows and expands to cover all across the world! Providing a course that helps individuals to further themselves but also to educate others is something that is very special.
