From the moment I arrived to Spain, I was hit with a new wave of something unrecognizable. It is my first time living out of the country and I was very nervous and, honestly, unwilling to truly acknowledge the fact that I was here for a year. I had some help moving into the new city because my dad came with me and I thank him every day for doing so. It felt incredibly daunting to move to this new city, to this new country with only a couple of suitcase. Leaving behind my family and loved ones was incredibly hard, but the excitement of finding out what my future held was fueling me along. Like everything, this has/is taking time, and that is okay! If I have learned at least one thing in this last month and a half of finally being in Spain, it is that settling in takes time and that is okay! For some reason I expected it to be very cut and dry, but I have found it to be the complete opposite and I am happy about that. It is nice that everyone here is a lot slower in comparison to where I am from. It has brought me an immense amount of peace and tranquility to be able to follow my new routine everyday and be open minded of this routine slightly changing day by day depending on whowhat I encounter. Overall, I am very content with this new life I am living and am so beyond happy I chose to follow this path!
