Moving to Madrid right after graduating college was honestly one of the biggest decisions I’ve ever made, and I’m so glad I went through with it. I wanted something different after finishing school, a new routine, a new place, and a chance to push myself a little. Madrid has ended up being the perfect fit.

What helped the most was having support throughout the whole process. Figuring out visas, paperwork, and the million tiny things that come with moving abroad can be overwhelming, but having people guide me through it made everything so much easier. It let me actually enjoy getting ready for the move instead of stressing every day.

Once I arrived, things really fell into place. My school has been amazing. The teachers are welcoming, the kids are cute and funny, and every day feels different in the best way. Outside of school, I’ve loved getting to know the city, walking, museums, cafés, exploring different neighborhoods, weekend trips… It’s all become part of a routine that I’ve grown to really love.

Of course, it hasn’t been perfect. I definitely had moments of homesickness and some days where everything felt new and confusing. But those moments passed, and I feel like I’m better for having gone through them.

If anyone’s thinking about doing something like this, I’d say go for it. It’s scary at first, but the experience, the people you meet, and the personal growth make it completely worth it. This year has been a really special one for me, and I’m grateful I took the leap.
