Hope in Al Fawar Camp

Volunteering in Hebron and working with Palestinian refugees in Al Fawar Camp was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I taught conversational English to children, and our classes were not just about studying. We learned through games, speaking activities, and fun interactive exercises. The kids loved to participate, laugh, and try new words, even if they were shy at first.
What really touched me was the strength of the refugees, especially the children. Their lives are not easy, but they come to class with so much energy, hope, and excitement to learn English. It was fascinating to see how motivated they were. They truly believe education can help them build a better future. The children were friendly, smart, and full of life. Every day I could see their confidence growing. Even small things, like being able to introduce themselves in English or play a word game, made them so proud. That feeling stays with you.
This experience was not only about teaching it was about connection, sharing, and learning from each other. I left with so much respect for these kids and their resilience. You don’t just teach, you learn about strength, kindness, and hope.
