My Highschool Marine Biology Internship Review

I had been researching internship programs for students when, fortunately, I came across Intern Abroad HQ. Through this internship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation, where my supervisor, Ms. Silvia, and I worked together very effectively. I was able to focus on refining my skills in identifying marine organisms based on their physical characteristics, as well as learning about various habitats. Furthermore, I gained practical experience in assessing community biodiversity through hands-on application. Although we encountered minor scheduling conflicts during the process, everything proceeded smoothly thanks to effective communication. Consequently, this internship not only helped me enhance desired skills, such as species identification and data analysis, but also taught me how to communicate effectively when working with a partner.

One crucial point that future interns should keep in mind is the need to recognize that this is a program of high responsibility. You must always take initiative regarding your assigned tasks and upcoming schedules, and complete them to the best of your ability; these are fundamental skills that will serve as a foundation for your future professional career.
