Turtle Conservation in La Pirraya

Volunteering is the best and worst experience of your life. It is every human emotion rolled into one week. Your heart will beat so fast with joy and excitement the first time you see a Hawksbill turtle crawling up the beach and as you watch her build her nest your jaw will drop in pure amazement. But the next day you will want to cry because it is so hot and you feel tied and you really want some French Fries and some chocolate ice cream. You will always feel sweaty despite showering, there will always be sand everywhere including in your bed, and your clothes are going to smell.

You will return home with a new love for life. You will appreciate everything you have. A flashing toilet will feel like a luxury and you will not take clean drinking water for granted. You will see how other people live with nothing and love it. A little part of El Salvador will always go home will you and your time in El Salvador will always be special.
