About Program

Join Visions Global Empowerment (August 1–13, 2026) for an unforgettable experience volunteering in Hawassa, Ethiopia. Partnering with Visions Ethiopia, you will share your skills with our community of Deaf youth and their families at the Visions Academy School for the Deaf. Engage in youth learning, community education, and health services support (including audiology) while immersing yourself in the rich culture and natural beauty of this incredible country.

Our trips are open to everyone regardless of professional background, nationality, age, or ability. Since 2002, over 300 people from a dozen countries have joined our programs. As a nonprofit, we offer high-impact service-learning at a fraction of the cost of comparable programs.

Visions is language-inclusive, providing interpreters for ASL, Ethiopian Sign Language, English, and Amharic. We endeavor to enable equitable inclusion and provide reasonable accommodations for all. Find full details and the application on our website.
