About Program
Since women in Ghana are placed in a disadvantaged position compared to men, we ask that the volunteers partake in daycare services. This will allow the opportunity for women who would normally take care of their children at home to work and seek sources of income. Significantly, sexual education is incredibly important for women worldwide. It is essential that women are taught sexual education courses that encourage their sexual autonomy. Menstruation is also an aspect of sexual health that should be addressed alongside the distribution of sanitary napkins/pads. Our volunteers under the women empowerment project of EHG will be responsible for building females up physically, emotionally and spiritually. Volunteers will also be responsible for helping young girls and women understand their worth and eliminating the mindset that they are “less-than” and are not necessarily meant for great things through pep-talks and inspirational seminars.
