Do you have a summer at your disposal, a month or longer? Do you want to do more than just travel - to get under the skin of a beautiful, fascinating country? To gain valuable experience in a developing country, learn from inspiring people and put your skills to use in exciting projects? As an Independent Volunteer with CasaSito you will be in direct contact with the Guatemalan culture, history and people. Come and share with us!
At CasaSito we try to make an effort to find the right tasks for the right volunteers considering their skills and motivations, but mostly what has the greatest impact on the local community. We carefully analyze the local social needs, and try to match volunteer skills accordingly. We look for individuals who want to give a service.
This is not a money making program. However, volunteers are responsible for their own expenses, transportation, accommodation, food etc. and due to a lack of physical resources CasaSito asks that volunteers provide any specific materials (e.g. art supplies) that they will need for the implementation of their Volunteer Project. Such materials are readily available to purchase in Guatemala.
For this, we work closely together with each individual on his or her project objective and budget. If necessary we can provide a fundraising platform and/or also assist with fundraising ideas.

Location
Antigua was the capital of Guatemala prior to a major earthquake that left most of the city in ruins. Guatemala city then became the capital, and Antigua city returned into a small town until the whole city was deemed a UNESCO world heritage site. Attractions include monuments and buildings, as they preserve Guatemala's historical beauty and showcase the Spanish influence in the area.
