About Program

Join us to improve the life of a child and become a hands-on part of the solution! Make a difference by choosing volunteer in South Africa completely free of charge. We provide you with free accommodation and self catering.

The Nonhlanhla Palesa Orphanage Early Childhood Development Project mission is: to promote, provide and support quality, sustainable and holistic early childhood development (ECD) for children from 2- 6 years in the Orange Farm Community. This is done by providing access to quality education and a range of resources for ECD. We aim to ensure all children's educational needs are met.

What specific tasks and activities are volunteers involved?

- Playing and interacting with children
- Assist with lesson times, sing-alongs and storytelling
- Provide support and assistance in terms of organising daily programmes
- Provide ideas and assist with fundraising initiatives

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
