About Program

AVO work with small, and locally run NGOs (Non Government Organizations) in contributing to the cause of development in both rural and urban areas. Most of these NGO are in shortage of finance, human resources and skills, requiring new volunteers to help. As a volunteer you will join and work with local NGO in various sectors including:

Community health
HIV/AIDS
Community development and conservation

Volunteer's roles will most vary with the type of NGO, but most of these NGO likely to ask you to:

Help in writing proposals and reports
Improving staff's English and communication skills
Assisting with fund raising initiatives
Networking with international partners

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
