About Program

The Camphill School, outside of Philadelphia, PA, offers volunteers an educational experience in our Community. Our school community follows the Waldorf tradition and works primarily with children with Intellectual and developmental disabilities. Volunteers work in our school’s flagship programming: residential, day academic and prevocational programs, as well as therapeutic care, for children in Kindergarten through Grade 12, as well as a Transition Program. Volunteers get free room and board, a monthly stipend, health insurance and other benefits all while living and working alongside dedicated staff members and incredible students.

Our mission is to create wholeness for children and youth with developmental disabilities through education, extended family living, and therapy so that they may be better understood, they may more fully unfold their potential, and they may meaningfully participate in life.
