I chose the International TEFL Academy to get my certification because it provides one with the most recognized TEFL certificate in the world. The pre-enrollment was helpful because it gave me an idea of what kind of work would be required to learn as much as possible in a short period of time in order to gain great teaching knowledge for potential learners, who could be children or adults. International TEFL Academy made the learning experience of being a teacher that much greater by giving me and my classmates a real teaching experience - an invaluable practice for those who have never taught at any level. As a result, I taught in China (Shenzhen) for two years, and it was all thanks to ITA's Job Search Guide, which allowed me to get hired one month after completing the class. I also use Facebook's Alumni page to stay up to date on any new hiring developments as far as Visa requirements, salary ranges and cultural customs for any potential country I may want to visit and teach in the future. Teaching abroad is a priceless experience, because it allows a person to grow spiritually by providing them with a world different from the one they grew up in, and by expanding their horizons, those who teach English abroad are able to become more tolerant, acceptable and appreciative of foreign cultures, foreign languages, foreign customs and foreign people altogether.
