The housing is in the city center, which give you access to lots of restaurants and clubs. It is also walking distance to the beach and the gorgeous Castillo de Santa Barbara. If you live in an apartment you will have your own room and 2-4 roommates. My apartment has plenty of space and views of the city.

To get to the University, you will take a tram or bus for about 25 minutes. Classes are not stressful but they will help you majorly improve your Spanish. You will be taking classes with other USAC students, but have the chance to interact with Spaniard through Intercambios- conversation partners who go to the university. Take advantage of any Spaniards you meet, as this will be a great way to practice conversation and learn about culture.
The Spanish in Alicante is fairly neutral, Valenciano, a dialect of Catalan is also used in the community. It is easy to reach Madrid by high speed train and the airport is a 30 minute bus ride away. It's a great city to be in if you wish to travel around Europe. All of the staff and professors are fantastic- truly supportive and caring. I had such a fantastic time and want to return already!
