Review

I had the opportunity to volunteer in a medical clinic outside of Antigua, Guatemala. The first day was awkward, as I was kind of left to figure out how to make the best of my experience. However, the staff at the clinic became very welcoming and I was able to keep myself busy, and ask if they needed help. In my time of volunteering, I was able to take vitals, shadow the doctor, see traumas, and learn more about the Guatemalan culture. My only complaint is the lack of safety in transportation. Thieves on Chicken buses targeted me and my phone was stolen. To future volunteers, leave all your valuables at the house! You can live without your phone during the volunteering!
