It is not often that one finds himself in the opportunity to experience a country like China in a way that Internships China makes possible for you and me. The way the Chinese culture differs from our western one can be truly inspiring and might even not let you go anymore. Especially memorable is also the food, the Chinese way of life, the technological advantage to our western world and the fact that you will lose your image of China you might already have.

On one hand, there is the new and shiny Shanghai which spreads a feeling of technological advantage and glamour. It is truly great to see how this country developed so far within such a short period of time. Seeing all the brand new buildings that are not a day older than 5 years, whole parts of the city that got torn down and rebuilt within 5 years is definitely impressive.

On the other hand, we have the old China which is still fairly good visible in several parts of the city, where everything happens on the street, things are sold and elderly people play Xiangqi (Chinese chess) on small tables aside from the street while plenty of youngsters are watching. Turning your head you will find yourself surrounded by old buildings that look like they won't make it another decade but still, a very charming warm atmosphere dominates these streets. By the time I first visited one of these older areas of Shanghai I almost got thrown back to the China in 1950. Although it was a little frightening at the beginning, I noticed quickly that Shanghai is actually one of the safest places I have ever been. Due to the mentality of Chinese people and the strict law in terms of crime against tourists, you never have to feel in danger.

To make a conclusion and summarise my trip to Shanghai with Internships China I would like to say that no matter what your goals are, whether it is to experience the culture, or to get a peek into the high-end technologies of China, if you are a socially active person or if you want to travel chine all by yourself. Internships China is a great partner to help you get into it, opening a bank account, getting a mobile phone abonnement, and sometimes simply help you to order something or find a place you wanted to visit.
