My stay in China

I had a short experience in Shanghai last summer. I was very impressed at first and quite scared to leave but it turns out Shanghai is an amazing city, especially for young students. People I met there (students/interns mostly) were all very friendly and changed my point of view on life in China as a foreigner, plus the team is helpful and always here if you have any questions or doubts. I would gladly come back and recommend this experience to anyone willing to discover a foreign culture while making friends and improving their work experience !

Workexperience with "Internships China"

Bastien and Fabien from "Internships China" booked us a nice hotel on the campus site of Donghua University and connected us to the interesting and innovative people of Coderbunker, where we did our projects. Aside from everything formal, the fun part was also perfect and the IC team always knew where to go or what to do. I really recommend IC to everyone because the team is superfriendly and fun but still serious and reliable.

What would you improve about this program?
I wouldn't know anything to be improved. I had three great weeks and never thought that something needs to be changed.

A memorable experience with memorable people

It is not often that one finds himself in the opportunity to experience a country like China in a way that Internships China makes possible for you and me. The way the Chinese culture differs from our western one can be truly inspiring and might even not let you go anymore. Especially memorable is also the food, the Chinese way of life, the technological advantage to our western world and the fact that you will lose your image of China you might already have.

On one hand, there is the new and shiny Shanghai which spreads a feeling of technological advantage and glamour. It is truly great to see how this country developed so far within such a short period of time. Seeing all the brand new buildings that are not a day older than 5 years, whole parts of the city that got torn down and rebuilt within 5 years is definitely impressive.

On the other hand, we have the old China which is still fairly good visible in several parts of the city, where everything happens on the street, things are sold and elderly people play Xiangqi (Chinese chess) on small tables aside from the street while plenty of youngsters are watching. Turning your head you will find yourself surrounded by old buildings that look like they won't make it another decade but still, a very charming warm atmosphere dominates these streets. By the time I first visited one of these older areas of Shanghai I almost got thrown back to the China in 1950. Although it was a little frightening at the beginning, I noticed quickly that Shanghai is actually one of the safest places I have ever been. Due to the mentality of Chinese people and the strict law in terms of crime against tourists, you never have to feel in danger.

To make a conclusion and summarise my trip to Shanghai with Internships China I would like to say that no matter what your goals are, whether it is to experience the culture, or to get a peek into the high-end technologies of China, if you are a socially active person or if you want to travel chine all by yourself. Internships China is a great partner to help you get into it, opening a bank account, getting a mobile phone abonnement, and sometimes simply help you to order something or find a place you wanted to visit.

An amazing experience

I did a 6-month internship in a marketing agency in Shanghai. I didn't know what to expect about China, but I LOVED it! China is an amazing country, the food is delicious and there are many opportunities for motivated people. I will definitely come back!

The Internships China team was there to answer all my questions, welcomed me the first day at the airport and helped me for all the administrative stuff. It was really helpful, I don't know how I could manage it by myself in a country I don't know with a language I don't speak. My room was nice, in a large flat with 3 awesome people.

Highly recommended!
