Graphic design in Korea

It was my first time traveling overseas when going through AIP's program. I'm from the US and I've been to Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic but this past Fall I went to South Korea and this was totally different. I'm a bit of an introvert person in general so I was pretty nervous throughout this whole process. Even in my first interview with AIP I was very nervous. My placement coordinator helped me out a lot though and when I arrived everything was very well organized. I was so scared that the driver wouldn't be there to pick me up but he was there with a sign that had my name and he was super nice by helping me with my luggage.
I did have some trouble making friends the first couple of weeks during my stay but I guess that's because there wasn't any events scheduled yet. But after 2 weeks AIP organized a dinner for everyone on the ground and that was great to meet other people and make friends. My internship and host company were really cool. I did a graphic design internship and was able to learn a lot of new programs, software and different styles. The Korean working culture is quite interesting; it's laid back but structured at the same time which was very nice to work in. My favorite part was being able to take in the Korean culture, hanging out with my coworkers and of course tasting the food. My time in Seoul went by soooo fast and I can definitely say that my introvertedness (if that's a word) has mellowed down. I would definitely suggest AIP's South Korea program to others.
