Hej! I am currently doing a working holiday in Japan. While I stay 10 months in total, I spent the first 2 months doing an internship in Fukuoka. To be 100 percent honest, I did not feel confident starting my adventure in Japan completely on my own, so I decided to do an internship before looking for an actual job. It was one of the best decision I have made in a very long time! I went with Meiji because I had read many good things about them and they helped me a lot. I did my internship with a local tourism company. That was the perfect start into the Japanese labour world. My favourite part about interning in Fukuoka was not only my internship itself, but also the activities arranged by Meiji. As I mentioned before, I felt a little insecure about embarking on this adventure on my own. But I met many cool people through Meiji’s activities and language exchanges. Internationals as well as Japanese! We even went on a backpacking trip to Kansai together!

In total, doing the internship with Meiji was the best start for my gap year! Thanks to the networking possibilities, I made many friends and found my first job in Japan that I started right after my internship ended. Meiji? Mange tak for alt dette!
