NP feedback

A few weeks ago I had the most wonderful 2 weeks east of Bali, Indonesia at the Nusa Penida Turtle Conservation Project. The experience of taking care of the turtles and contributing to their survival was immensely rewarding. The beach clean ups were so satisfying realising that everything we collected would be one less risk to turtles and other marine life. I have a way to go with the morning crab catching though! I was impressed by the management of the project and each of the 4 coordinators were a delight to be around. They made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and went over and above to support us, even helping with information about what we could do on the weekends and helping arrange transport. Their dedication to the project is an inspiration. They actively encouraged our feedback and suggestions for improvements. The weekly beach bonfires were a blast and clearly there’s no end to the talent of the coordinators who entertained us with great music. IVHQ were always very responsive leading up to the volunteering and supportive throughout with emails to see how it was going. I am very happy to have arranged my volunteering through such a professional organisation like IVHQ. Transfers were a breeze too. I treasure the friendships that grew with other volunteers and many of us are regularly in touch from all our different locations around the world. I’d encourage anyone volunteering at this project to think of ways you can reduce your plastic consumption e.g take your own refillable water bottle, container for take away foods, calico bag for laundry - the public laundry services will return your washing to you in plastic if you don’t supply your own bag.
