Review

The actual week-long programmes were fantastic. I have made friends for life and had experiences that I would not have had elsewhere. Though tiring, seeing the development of everyone around you by the end of the week makes it all worth it. The dynamic of the Junior camps in particular was so much fun to be part of. Everyone becomes so close so quickly and you really see the changes you are making to the kids’ confidence and speaking skills. You certainly have to be enthusiastic and sociable to fit the role as native mentor. Such a rewarding and interesting way to explore new parts of Europe and their cultures. Free food, free board in some lovely locations and the opportunity to earn the TEFL certificate! My only reservation surrounding working with Angloville again is the organisation behind the scenes. I have passed on this feedback, however, and hope it can be amended. Thanks for the great experience this year!

The communication behind the scenes was not ideal to say the least. My friend and I were moved to Lipowy Most a few days before our departure from Krakow to Warsaw. On explaining that we could not make it to the Lipowy Most pickup time, we were changed back. 36 hours before my departure to the next programme I was changed to Lipowy most again. Most staff were out of office so it was very stressful to resolve. There was a distinct lack of communication and, also, a distinct lack of duty of care for native participants. Had I even been able to make the Lipowy Most programme, there was no offer to supplement my travel. I didn’t want to write this on the public review as it did not effect my actual Angloville experience during the programmes. Special thanks to Matt Nogajski, the coordinator on my Krakow programme, who went above and beyond to help resolve this issue.
