It's a scam.

I did the project in South Africa, and discovered that Agape is actually just an agency for the project there. This isn't mentioned ANYWHERE on their website or in the PDF they provide with the description of the project. They present it as THEIR project. I ended up paying them 1880 pounds as opposed to the 1146 pounds I would have paid had I booked directly with the project, which is called Leo Africa. Yes, I did get travel insurance as part of the price, but three weeks of travel insurance doesn't cost 734 pounds.

You'd think with all the extra money I paid them, they'd provide top service, but no. The coordinator had me book a plane ticket BEFORE he had confirmed with the project that there was space for me, which meant I then had to go through the hassle of rebooking the tickets.

What really gets me is that they present themselves as a charity - an altruistic organization that was set up to provide good opportunities for volunteering.

Just to be clear, my experience at Leo Africa was really good, and I can recommend it.

Would you recommend this program?
No, I would not
