Best 6 months of my life

I was an intern at GVI Chiang Mai from June to December 2019. It was the best 6 months of my life, it is the most enriching experience! I went to GVI Chiang Mai for the elephants but while I was there learnt so much about the people and the culture. You get to hike in to the forest every day and watch the elephants in there natural habitat interacting with one another. Don’t get me wrong the elephants were incredible and definitely my favorite aspect of the trip, but it is so incredible getting to know the locals and teaching the children in the school. You get some lessons in the local language and would really recommend trying to pick it up, it enhances your experience massively when you are confident communicating. I also learnt so much from the other volunteers on my trip, I met such a range of people from all walks of life. I would recommended GVI Chiang Mai to anyone of any age!
