Itoshima Business Development Internship

This experience learning about all things business from customs to the details of the logistics and supply chain process in Fukuoka was extremely rewarding. We were able to gain insight into the cultural and historical reasons for how Japanese businessmen and women operate. In being situated in a regional town, outside Fukuoka, famous for its production of mentaiko, we immersed ourselves in the production process from farming the fish with the Yamasue organisation to serving the delicacy in conjunction with other local, fresh produce a variety of traditional meals at the Itoaguri restaurant. With the assistance of the kind and hospitable staff, the whole experience was made that much more enjoyable by forging unforgettable memories and relationships. I would recommend undertaking this program for anyone interested in wanting to learn about beyond the internal dynamics of Japanese business and discover a greater external rationale for their practices.
