There are also notes taken during the class and additional exercises. At the beginning of the class, the teacher discusses the topic related to the main video of the lesson and uses this discussion to gradually introduce new words that will be used in the video’s dialog. My teacher, Wang laoshi, gives me lots of opportunities to speak, gives me very good feedback and corrections, helps me to practice new words and grammar and explains the new content in a very engaging way. It feels more like an interesting discussion with a caring and supportive friend, yet I am still learning new words and grammar. In my opinion, That’s Mandarin managed to make online classes better than traditional classroom lessons. The secret are the teachers that know how to help the students utilize the NihaoCafe platform to progress in their study.
