Review

Teaching in Thailand has been an amazing experience so far. I have experienced a new culture in a completely authentic way. I joined the programme slightly later and received amazing support from TFT and Jaemi who were flexible with calls and adapted to my time difference. TFT were able to place me with my friends and have been incredibly supportive throughout the whole process.

Some placement locations are quite rural and far from Bangkok making travel on weekends quite difficult/expensive/time consuming. However this does provide an authentic experience and certainly makes you appreciate your time off of teaching. Schools in Thailand are very different from the UK which has been challenging however teaching in a primary school has been extremely fun. I would definitely recommend teaching in Thailand and TFT as a company☺️

Would you recommend this program?
Yes, I would

I have kept this review specifically for TFT however I must be honest that Mediakids as a company have not been great.
1. The visa situation was extremely stressful and should have been sorted out sooner
2. We have only received one HR email from Mediakids in 2 months of teaching and have not been checked in on by our consultants
3. At orientation there was really no explanation on the difference between MEP, ECD and EP meaning a lot of us had no idea what to expect when arriving to our schools (I teach MEP and my classes are much more demanding than ECD)
4. Lack of teaching resources for MEP and EP. All I have been provided is two textbooks whereas others have all of their worksheets and flash cards provided. I still do not have a curriculum for my Eng for Math classes
5. Poor communication, consultants can take 1-2 days to reply when messages can be something essential e.g organising our busses to our placement we were not informed that our tickets had to be received from 7/11 the day before and had to rush there with 1 hour to spare
6. We’re not informed that resources such as paper, microphones and printer ink should be provided by Media kids and have only found out by Thai teachers 2 months in to the programme
