On this trip to Belize, we were able to assess the needs of the families out in Belize. It was a great experience where I brought my skills and knowledge to support the staff in Belize and provide in vivo support to the families. In addition, I learned the importance of cultural diversity and how challenging it can be for families to obtain services that are easily accessible to families in the states. There was also time for fun; my favorite excursion was cave tubing. This was a well-balanced experience!

This was a fantastic experience and a great opportunity! I look forward to many more trips like this. As a professional in the field of ABA, it was disheartening to see other volunteers utilizing the trip to push/promote their personal agendas and not having cultural sensitivity.
