Within these 12 weeks of being in Barcelona, I have made countless memories & friendships that will last a lifetime. Everyone on the programme has been so supportive and helpful when I have had any queries or questions regarding the NIE and other Spanish administrative tasks. The trips to Girona and Figueres were excellent and thank you to Marcelo, Charlie, and all the other Absolute staff for making it possible. My internship here has also been extremely beneficial for me, gaining my first professional work experience after graduating in 2023. Being able to do this in a new country, surrounded by the numerous cultures that Barcelone has to offer, is certainly an experience I would recommend to anyone.

I would not put this on my public review, however, something I would recommend for future programmes would be to try to find accomodation elsewhere. The location, layout, and the staff would be the things I would point out to future Absolute Interns. In explanation, being this far out of the city centre makes it harder for those who work later to enjoy their evenings, especially in winter term when the sun is down by 6pm. This accomodation is more suitable for those who like to spend time alone, as there is a limited amount of space to actually hang out with people. So, I would say it is not ideal for a programme like Absolute, where everyone is only staying for a short period of time, so are trying to meet new people and hang out with these newly made friends. Additionally, the reviews for the accommodation tend to be quite accurate, I would say it is also more suitable for younger students, maybe just starting University, due to the strict nature of the accommodation, as one feels more like a school student than a graduate (adult) there. Additionally, the accommodation sometimes is not able to serve food (all of week 12), meaning the extra cost of this accommodation for serving said food is rendered invalid for this week. However, despite this, the rooms are nice, and the terrace is nice also to relax in the sun.
