If you grew up speaking English, this course does a good job of making sure you know the fine points of grammar that you're likely to teach to students learning English as a foreign language while not bogging you down in assignments that would really just confirm what you already know. That being said, if your only experience with English is some college classes, you may need a longer course.

Experienced teachers will breeze through the sections on lesson planning, pacing, and classroom management, while still picking up a few pointers for teaching English internationally. If you've never taught before, I would not recommend using this course as your sole preparation. While you'll get some good tips, they'll fall far short of what a new teacher needs. I've seen some reviews criticize the teaching tips as obvious, but I think it's more that veteran teachers already know these things, which doesn't mean everyone does. I've known college professors to be blown away when K-12 teachers mention simple things like the importance of learning your students' names and calling them by name.

If you've got years of teaching experience, you're probably considering this course as a fast certification option, and you will finish fast, so just be happy about it.
