Studying at EF Boston has been one of the most rewarding and memorable experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived in April, I felt welcomed, supported, and inspired to learn. The school creates a positive and international environment where students from all over the world come together with the shared goal of improving their English and exploring American culture.
The academic side of EF Boston is well-structured and effective. The classes are small, which means you get a lot of individual attention from the teachers. Lessons are interactive and often include speaking practice, group activities, and real-life topics that make learning enjoyable and practical. The teachers are passionate and encouraging, always ready to help if you’re struggling with grammar, pronunciation, or vocabulary. Over time, I could clearly see the improvement in my English skills, especially in my confidence when speaking with others.
What really makes EF Boston special, though, is everything outside of the classroom. The school organizes many social events, trips, and cultural activities that allow students to bond and experience life in the U.S. One highlight for me was the Fourth of July BBQ lunch hosted by the school. It was a chance to experience a real American holiday with traditional food, decorations, and music—all on campus. Later that day, I joined some Swedish au pair friends at a rooftop bar to watch fireworks over the city. It was one of the most beautiful moments of my time here.
The friendships I made at EF Boston have been just as important as the classes. I met people from countries like Brazil, Japan, France, Germany, and of course, many fellow Swedes. These connections made everyday life more exciting and meaningful. Whether we were grabbing coffee after class, walking along the Charles River, or exploring a new part of the city together, every moment felt like part of something special. The school creates a strong sense of community, and it’s easy to make friends even if you come here alone.
Boston itself is a fantastic place to study. It’s a safe, student-friendly city full of history, green spaces, and interesting neighborhoods to discover. I spent weekends visiting museums, trying local food, shopping on Newbury Street, and relaxing in Boston Common. I also had the chance to travel with my host family and discover parts of Massachusetts I had never heard of before. Being placed with a kind and welcoming host family helped me adapt quickly and feel at home in a new country.
Overall, I would highly recommend EF Boston to anyone looking to improve their English, meet people from around the world, and experience American life in a fun and supportive environment. This experience has given me not only better language skills, but also unforgettable memories, friendships, and a deeper understanding of the world around me.
