My Study Abroad Experience

I have to start off by saying that my study abroad trip to Barcelona, Spain was simply life changing and incredible! I left everything that I was used to and stepped into a world of new ways, beliefs and traditions. Too me, it was the little things that mattered the most; the way Catalans embraced each other or the way people walked around and appreciated the beautiful nature that Barcelona has to offer! Every day after class I would lay out on the beach and just soak up the sun right in front of the Mediterranean Sea. My home stay mother was so nice to us and the smell of her cooking made me feel so warm inside. Even though I was so out of touch with the United States for this short amount of time, I felt like I was at home exactly where I was. Hiking to the very top of the Montserrat mountain was completely peaceful and breathtaking. I closed my eyes and knew that this was exactly where I was supposed to be. My program was the best and their support made me feel so comfortable with everything that I did. I came back to the United States pumped up to do even more with my life and of course travel again internationally! Being a Global Ambassador at Hampton University is so awesome because I get to share my experience and help other's make their dreams of studying abroad a reality.
