Ice-cream after class

I had a fantastic time teaching university students in Hanoi and found all my classes friendly and welcoming. As I was teaching alone, my students loved to immerse me in Vietnamese culture and took me out for trips and meals frequently! A highlight for me personally, was after a very hot and humid evening class, my students surprised me by taking me to get some local ice-cream at their favourite cafe (where one of my students worked). We then spent the rest of the evening trying a whole range of Vietnamese dishes and I had a Vietnamese language lesson: a lovely evening for everyone involved.
