I am not an outsider

I would like to share something surprised me. Before I came to NZ, I was expecting more western people living here. However there are so many immigrants such as Chinese, Korean and Indian. This fact relived me a lot. Because I am Asian, I had been afraid of being discriminated. I have watched some TV programs about discrimination I could not imagine my life would be this nice when I was in Japan. Being discriminated is a sad thing ever I can encounter in my life and I always cared about what kiwi people think about people from overseas. However there are no such thing and I was able to live like being myself.
I was worried about my English skill too. Because I am from Asian country, Japan, I didn't really have opportunity to interact with people from different countries by using English. Therefore it was a little bit hard to get used to NZ life. I was just too nervous to talk to people around since I was always caring about making mistakes. Therefore I found this studying abroad was really tough at the beginning. However I was wrong, I didn't need to be a perfect English speaker but try to interact with people as much as I can. There are many people from different countries and i realised that just enjoying living in NZ is the most important thing.
I now can say that my life in NZ is awesome and multi cultural country is really interesting. I learnt a lot of things not only kiwi stuff but also other countries'. I really love this country and I do not want to go back to Japan. I would like to keep improving English to be global person and someday I would like to come back here...!!
