Review

I had a wonderful experience volunteering at The Sanjyot Orphanage. I taught english and lived with three wonderful little boys who were eager to learn! The Sanjyot Foundation is working tirelessly to provide a safe and nurturing environment for orphans. I am eager to return and encourage others to serve! It is a life changing experience. I feel I have made a difference in the children's lives and they have made a lasting impact on my life.

Tips for future travelers:
Bring a camera
Bring children's books and workbooks
Pack lightly and for tropical weather
Bring your own feminine products (can be hard to find)
Bring a book for your personal time
Bring a debit card because you will need pill out the Indian currency at the local ATM
Bring a fanny pack or money belt to keep you money safe
Make sure you have multiple copies of your visa
Make sure you get travel medical insurance (it is inexpensive and could be very important)
Make sure you bring pepto bismol or other stomach remedies (probiotics etc.)
( I did not get sick but it is very common when traveling to India)
Make sure you drink bottled or filtered water
