About Program
Study at a local school in Ecuador and choose your academic speciality. Not only will you meet and befriend local students, but you will take your Spanish to the next level. Stay with a host family who will introduce you to Ecuadorean culture and provide emotional support. You'll also have the opportunity to explore Ecuador's lush rain forests and marvelous cities. Students also have the chance to do volunteer and service work during their stay to engage even further with their Ecuadorean community. Students may also travel to Ecuador for the university program, social work, or for a volunteer program.
Students may also choose the YFU Discover Ecuador summer program. For six weeks, students live with a host family to get a real feel for the culture while taking a trip to visit the rain forest. Day trips to places like the colonial section of Quito, the colorful indigenous market at Otavalo and the equator line are included in the Discover Ecuador program.
