Hawaii Sea Turtle Service & Adventure

This was my first trip with Travel for Teens and I'm so glad it was. I spent ten days exploring Oahu and Maui with a very fun group of people, wonderful counselors, and a lot of excitement. Not only did I visit all of the most common tourist locations, but I also got to have experiences a regular tourist would likely never be able to have, such as doing community service with a marine wildlife center, visiting Haleakala Volcano early enough to see the sunrise and then biking down it later, surfing at Waikiki Beach, and trying numerous wonderful Hawaiian and other Polynesian dishes. Hawaii was incredibly beautiful and I'm so glad that I went there with Travel for Teens.

Pros
  • Releasing a sea turtle back into the ocean
  • Wonderful staff and group
  • Beautiful scenery and exciting activities
Cons
  • Did not spend as much time doing community service as expected
  • Did not get a lot of time to relax in Maui
  • N/A

TFT key west marine conservation trip for High school students

The mix and perfect balance of interacting with nature and experiencing breathtaking natural environments and the experiences in the cities and urban settings was a stand out part of the experience. How I was bale to get to know my peers and form friendships that last to this day built a distinct tight knit bond with my travel group. Initially I was unsure about participating in a TFT trip. However, I highly recommend this program and am ecstatic that I chose to participate. I look forward to being able to participate in these trips every summer.

Pros
  • friendships developed
  • culture experienced
  • unique experiences

Pacific Northwest Explorer

My TFT experience started with getting to contact with Maggie at the TFT office, who quickly and professionally responded to all the questions from me and my parents. Additopnally, when there was a issue with changes of flights, the office resolved the issue collaboratively with me and my family, reassuring my parents that I would arrive safely to the trip destination.
I took the Pacific Northwest Explorer trip in the summer of 2022. The itinerary is flawless, a perfect mix of cities and nature, and the counselors, Annalise and Willoughby, worked to ensure the trip was enjoyable for everyone. We traversed up mountains, swam in crystal clear lakes, and explored our way through the beautiful cities of the west coast.

Hawaii Sea Turtle and Service

My trip to Hawaii with Travel For Teens is an experience I will never forget. Since I was going by myself, I was nervous that I wasn’t going to find people I liked to be with. However, by the time we were in the airport getting ready to leave everyone was crying because it was over. Everything about the trip from zip lining over beautiful landscapes to scuba diving with spotted rays was way better than I could ever imagine. The lodging was perfect for our group; one place even provided space for us to hang out, and get to know the other travelers. My counselors, Gabi, Breisin, and Gina, were amazing beyond words. Any chance I get I make sure to recommend this program to people. It is truly one of the best decision I’ve ever made.

Pros
  • Meeting the most amazing people
  • Learning the Hawaiian Culture
  • Lifelong memories will be created

Pacific Northwest Adventure + California Adventure

I did both the Pacific Northwest Adventure and California Summer trips and I loved them! The itinerary presented so many activities in so many places, most of which concentrated in city life, but some hiking and nature activities were mixed in. One of my favorite things about how Travel for Teens operates their trips is that there is built in free time, where you can do whatever you want to do for that few hour period. My group went to watch a red carpet premiere in Santa Monica for one of these times. The staff are also incredible! 10/10 would recommend Travel for Teens!

Pros
  • Great Staff
  • Encouraging, but not pushy staff
  • Great kids, though of course this probably isn't always the case
Cons
  • Lots of hours spent traveling

Travel For Teens: Florida Keys Marine Conservation

My trip with Travel For Teens was one of the most positive and engaging experiences of my life! I visited Florida with them, and it was such an effective and great way to see Florida and all that it has to offer. I felt that I was fully immersed and exposed to everywhere we went, thanks to my lovely trip directors who were so much fun. I met so many new people from so many different places, and it is hard to explain how much fun I had with them and the experiences we had along the way. My passion for travel shined and grew from this trip and program. The places we went to and the new people and friends that I made, made the trip what it was - such an amazing experience. I gained and learned so much from this trip and cannot wait until next summer to visit somewhere new!

Pros
  • Full immersion and exposure to where you are visiting
  • Super fun activities and experiences but with freedom
  • Safety and comfort everywhere

Amazing Alaska

I would say Alaska was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but because of this trip I definitely dream about going back. It took me a minute to adjust to the sun not setting and it still being bright at 3 am. But because it was so bright I could stay up later laughing, talking, exploring, and learning. I did not take this trip for granted. The staff and even kids on this trip encouraged each other to really observe where we were. I had never drunk so much water in one summer - everyone was really hydrated. The staff also really encouraged us to try new foods and drinks - I tried reindeer sausage! I felt a little homesick at times but this trip made me look beyond New Jersey and kept me in the moment. I now have a special place in my heart for Alaska.

Pros
  • Beautiful - great for pictures
  • food was phenomenal
  • made so many memories with people I still talk to
