About Program

Learn mindfulness practices while backpacking through the stunning landscape of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Participants will:

* Cultivate awareness of the natural world and develop wilderness skills.
* Connect with yourself and others through guided meditation, movement, small group discussion, and fun workshops.
* Explore mindfulness practices that support emotional resilience, inner strength, and compassion towards self and others.
* Study with experienced teachers, mentors, and peers in a supportive environment.

This special retreat is for teens and young adults up to the age of 32. We will start and end at Silver Spur Retreat Center, but spend 6 nights out in the granite hills of the Emigrant Wilderness. Participants will be learning to practice mindfulness as well as backpacking and backcountry living skills. Participants will need to be well prepared to hike and camp outside for a week and provide much of their own gear.
